 who pays for damages? - 2006/10/12 21:49 as landlord, when something breaks (for example...a window) at the fault of the tenant....is the landlord accountable to pay for this? the window was already a bit damaged..and the tenant pulled it down too hard, smashing the glass..

the tenant refuses to pay for the damages saying that the window was already in bad shape..and thats why the glass broke.

who should pay?

The price of a piece of glass is not worth ruining your good relationship with your tenant for.

I find the relationship between landlord and tenant is the foundation of your income and business.. if you want to jeapordise that because of a pane of glass?.. is it really worth it?
